Matthias Visser – Writer & Producer
Matthias Visser is a graduate of the American Film Institute
(AFI) in Los Angeles. In addition to winning the “Best Foreign
Student” award in his year, Mr. Visser won several international
awards as well as a Student Academy Award for his thesis project.
After
graduating, Mr. Visser optioned and adapted the critically acclaimed
English novel “Confessions of a Flesh-Eater” with
fellow AFI graduate Niklaus Hilber. The screenplay won them an
award from the European Media Development Agency and the project
is currently in pre-production with Dutch producer Kees Kasander,
long-time producing partner of famed British director Peter Greenaway
(“The Cook, the Thief, the Wife and her Lover”, “Prosperos’ Books” etc.). |
Upon completion of the
screenplay Mr. Visser moved to New York City to collaborate with
writer/director Matthew Chapman (“What’s the Worst
that could Happen?”, ”Consenting Adults”, “Runaway
Jury”).
In 2003 Mr. Visser joined producer Paula Fisher and
Millennial Arts Productions to co-produce the Classical Music Video “Rachel” for
Director Sidney Lumet and the feature documentary “Finding
Eléazar” which will premiere at the 2004 Tribeca
International Film Festival.
Mr. Visser also wrote a feature-length
thriller in 2003, entitled “Brooklyn
to Manhattan”, which he is currently co-producing with
Paula Fisher. |
